I. Objective To promote the use of manual keys. This contest is open to all radio amateurs and SWL.
II. Dates Straight Key Party 80m (3510-3560kHz) (HTP80): Annually on the first Saturday in February from 1600 to 1900 UTC.

Straight Key Party 40m (HTP40): Annually on the first Saturday in September from 1300 to 1600 UTC.
III. Bands HTP80: 80m (3510-3560kHz), HTP40: 40m
The IARU Region 1 band plan must be adhered to!
IV. Categories Category A: Up to 5 Watt output (10W input)
Category B: Up to 50W output (100W input)
Category C: Up to 150W output (300W input)
Category D: SWL
V. Operation Only CW (A1A).
Both call signs have to be sent at the start of a QSO.Example:
DL1ABC de DL9XYZ.
EXCHANGE: RST report plus a progressive 3-digit serial number starting at 001/category/name/age. YLs send „XX“ instead of the age.
Examples: "569001/A/Tom/39", "589004/C/Rosel/XX"
VI. Scoring
  1. QSO POINTS:
    Category A with Category A: 9 points
    Category A with Category B: 7 points
    Category A with Category C: 5 points
    Category B with Category B: 4 points
    Category B with Category C: 3 points
    Category C with Category C: 2 points
  2. TOTAL SCORE: Sum of all QSO points.
VII. LOG-Submission
  1. LOG INFORMATION: The log must contain the following information: UTC, band, call signs, exchanges, category, description of the station, calculation of the points, declaration of honour that only a straight key was used. SWL logs must contain both calls of a QSO and at least one complete exchange.

    HTP80: Arrived at the manager until 28 February; HTP40: Arrived at the manager until 30 September.
Results can be requested from the manager. In this case send a self-addressed and stamped envelope (SASE).
